I focus on computational linguistics. My research combines formal language theory, phonology, and natural language processing NLP to understand language.

Previously, I've worked on projects related to Arabic dialect phonology, finite-state automata, and morphology.

Machine Learning Engineer II: Gro Intelligence, Brooklyn, NY (Sep 2021 - Sep 2024)

• Developed robust and scalable backend systems for AI model training and serving, designing an NLP pipeline to analyze agricultural data
• Led migration of legacy models to microservices architecture using Docker and AWS Batch
• Architected and implemented test code, updating Airflow scheduling and decreasing product errors by 84%
• Refactored legacy code into microservices (Terraform, Airflow, Docker, EC2), reducing costs by 91%

• Developed a Python script to collect YouTube videos, extract audio, and transcribe text for a speech dataset
• Coded and tested multiple neural network variants (LSTM, GRU) to add diacritics to Arabic text
